At least 50 private jets filled with VIP’s will arrive in the Dalmatian city of Split in mid June to attend Ultra Europe Music Festival 2014…
The festival’s organiser Joe Bašić told daily Slobodna Dalmacija that 30 private jets have already confirmed their arrival, with another 20 at least expected to arrive for the festival which will be held at Split’s Poljud Stadium from 11-13 July and on the island of Hvar on 14 July. Split airport, which during the peak summer has known to receive more than 120 commercial flights in a day, are cautious.
“Last year during the festival we had an increased number of private jets arriving, but organisers this year have announced a considerable amount more of these kind of flights. We will do our best of course, but our airport has already agreed flight schedules for the year, so non-scheduled flights, especially during the weekend, may cause some difficulties. For example, during the season on Saturdays, every five minutes we have a commercial flight landing,” said Split Airport’s Assistant Director Pero Bilas.
Budget airline flights to Split during the Ultra Music Festival week have already sold out, whilst prices are souring for flights arriving just before the festival due to high demand from festival-goers.
