Croatian Red Cross Raises 54 Million for Flood Victims

It has been more than two weeks since flooding devastated eastern Croatia, but fundraising efforts across the country are still going on, with humanitarian concerts and celebrity football matches organised to help collect much need money for the region…

So far the Croatian Red Cross has collected more than 54 million kuna (7.1 million EUR) for the victims of the floods. More than 42 million kuna (5.5 million EUR) was donated onto the bank account of the Red Cross, whilst 11.5 million kuna (1.4 million EUR) was raised via the 060 telephone number set up for donations.

Last week 3 concerts were held in Zagreb, Split and Rijeka, which raised 3.2 million kuna (460,000 EUR), whilst proceeds from Croatia’s football friendly with Mali on Saturday also went to the flood victims.
