Two former South African rugby stars are currently in Croatia to help a leading tourism operator promote Croatia as an ideal destination for international sports team….
1995 World Cup winner Chester Williams and fellow South African Bobby Joubert are currently on the Croatian coast with organisers checking out facilities for an international rugby training camp which is set to be held in Croatia later this year. The former internationals visit to Croatia has been organised by the Nada rugby club in Split, where Joubert has already spent time last year helping the club out, and travel operator Uniline. The training camp is part of Uniline’s project to position Croatia as an ideal destination to prepare for sports teams from around Europe and the world.
Croatia’s climate and conditions to train for sportspeople make it an idea destination, especially at times of the year when the weather is not as agreeable in other parts of Europe. Already a number of English football clubs, including Manchester City, have used the Croatian coast as a pre-season destination.
