Croatia’s GDP Falls 0.4% in First Quarter

Croatia continues to sink further and further into the proverbial after the Central Bureau of Statistics announced today that gross domestic product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2014 had dropped in real terms by 0.4% from the same quarter last year, reported RTL…
Tuesday’s statistics confirmed what was earlier forecasted with relation to the country’s GDP. Household consumption expenditure in the first quarter of 2014 has decreased by 0.5%, whilst Government consumption expenditure fell by 1.9%.
Exports of goods and services increased by 6.1%, primarily due to the growth of exports, which grew by 11.7%. Exports of services fell by 2.5%. Imports of goods increased by 3.9%, while Imports of goods and services increased by 2.5%.
