Income generated from tourism in Croatia in the first four months of 2014 is up 21% from the same period last year, according to data from the Tax Department…
From January to the end of April, income generated from services in the tourism sector (accommodation, food, travel services) totalled 5.73 billion kuna (750 million EUR), 21% up from the previous year and a good sign heading before Croatia enters ‘peak’ season.
“I am very pleased so far with revenues from the tourism sector because it is a key measure of financial indicators of a successful business. Revenue growth in the tourism sector, especially in hotels and restaurants is certainly a positive sign before the season, but also for the overall tourist year. Investments play an important role in achieving positive financial growth, and I invite the entire tourism sector to continue to invest in improving quality and services in their facilities because now is the right time to have a better quality and more competitive tourism industry.“, said Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin.
The biggest gains were made in the hotel and private accommodation sector (+55%), campsites (+58%) followed by food and drinks (+9%), and restaurants (+4%).
