With over 1 million tourists currently holidaying on Croatia’s coast, there is no doubt that the country is a hit summer destination. A new pilot project titled ‘Croatia 365’ which has been launched by the nations Tourism Ministry, hopes to turn keep the tourists coming even once the summer sun has gone…
Croatia 365, which aims to attract tourists to the country 365 days a year, focuses on out of season attractions – regardless of what the weather is doing. The project has 6 bullet points, or areas where Croatia will focus its attention on to keep the tourists coming out of season. Those areas are:
1. Culture
2. Gastronomy and Wine
3. Active Tourism
4. Bike Tourism
5. Health & Wellness
6. Business Tourism
The Ministry of Tourism will focus on improving facilities and activities in those areas to make Croatia an all year round destination, and it will also be backed up with an intensive marketing plan. In September marketing campaigns will start in all of Croatia’s main markets in Europe. The 22 destinations which are included in the pilot project have guaranteed that at least 50% of all tourism and restaurant facilities remain open outside of the main season.
