The number of mobile phone users in Croatia is on the decline, according to the latest data from the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency (HAKOM)…
Over the last 12 months the number of mobile phones users has dropped by 414,777 down to 4.59 million. With various networks in Croatia offering different rates, it is unusual practice for users to have more than one mobile phone and network. The drop is the biggest since 2008 and takes into account users who have fixed contracts with operators and those who have used have used a prepaid voucher at least once in the last 3 months.
To compare statistics with 2010, there were 6.3 million mobile phones in use then, compared with 5.88 million in 2008. The number of those with fixed landlines has also dropped by 90,000 down to 1.03 million, according to the latest statistics.
