Croatian Shipyard Contracted to Build World’s Largest Sail Boat

Croatia’s largest shipyard Brodosplit, located in the Dalmatian city of Split, have been contracted to construct what will be the largest sailing boat in the world, the Shipyard has said in a statement…
The passenger cruiser will be 162.2 metres long, with have five masts and 6400 square feet of sail, making it the largest sailing boar in the world. Brodosplit will construct the ship for its owners from the Bahamas.
The project is reportedly worth half a billion kuna (65 million euros), with the delivery of the first boat planned for February 2017. The gigantic sailing boat will be able to hold 312 passengers in 156 luxury cabins on board. The boat is expected to have over 130 staff on board.
“After months of negotiations, we are pleased to point out that Brodosplit have been recognised as one of the rare shipyards which is able to build a unique vessel like this,” said Brodosplit.
