Minister: ‘China Extremely Important for Croatian Tourism’

Considering the large number of Chinese nationals that travel abroad, Croatia’s Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin says that China is an extremely important market…
“There is enormous number of tourists who travel not just in the peak season,” Lorencin said in an interview with Xinhua, adding that the number of tourists in Croatia from China is on the rise.
To promote Croatia as an all year round destination, those in charge of tourism have organised a week-long tour of Croatia for Chinese travel agents, and Shao Yiheng from Chinese travel agency China Classical Holiday, is optimistic that Croatia can become a new hit destination among Chinese tourists.
The Dalmatian city of Split have recently entered into a partnership agreement with the south-east Chinese city of Hangzhou, where mutual exchanges between the two cities will help foster growth in tourism from China. Last year Split recorded 6% more tourists from China. Last year Chinese tourists spent 120 billion USD around the world.
