A dozen multi-billionaire Chinese businessmen, together with the Vice President of the Financial and Economic Committee of the China Congress, are currently on a working visit to the northern county of Međimurje…
The group, led by Gu Shengzu from the China’s Financial and Economic Committee, are interested in investing in Croatia’s most northern county. Over the last decade Međimurje has made significant steps in attracting foreign investment. Foreign capital has built over a dozen new factories in the last ten years, investing 100’s of millions of euros and employing more than 3,500 people in the county. Međimurje’s location, on the east-west border, cheap labour and its developed infrastructure are enticing factors for overseas investors.
“Above all the metal and textile industry is what we can offer them. In Međimurje we produce transformers for the whole world and also produce the fence for Rome’s Colosseum, said Međimurje Prefect Matija Posavec.
The Chinese businessmen were taken on a tour of the northern part of the country, where they took in some of the county’s attractions, including a look at the wine scene there. The group then went on to meet with leading Međimurje business figures in Čakovec, the largest city in the county. (pic: screenshot)
