3 Croatians Make FourFourTwo’s 100 Best Football Players in the World List

After weeks of opinion-gathering from its panel of experts, renowned football magazine FourFourTwo has released its annual list of 100 Best Football Players in the World for 2014…
Spain has led the way with 18 internationals featured in the final 100, followed by Germany which has 9 of its World Cup winning side in the list. Croatia has 3 representatives, level with England and Belgium.
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić, who has been nominated for both the UEFA and FIFA team of the year, is the best placed Croatian on the list coming in at 18th position. Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitić is next at number 30, followed by Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandžukić in 53rd position.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was named as the best player in the world, with Bayern Munich’s Phillip Lahm ahead of Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Manuel Neuer, Gareth Bale, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Diego Costa, Luis Suarez, Angel di Maria, and Arjen Robben were the top 10.
