The Croatian handball team will begin its quest for its 2nd world title this week when the 24th Men’s Handball World Championships start in Qatar…
Slavko Goluža’s side, who are in Group B along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Austria, Tunsia and Iran, will open the tournament against Austria on Friday 16 January at the Duhail Sports Hall at 19:00 local time. Croatia last won a World Championship back in 2003 in Portugal, and also have 3 silvers and a bronze to their name. The 2-time Olympic champions are one of the tournament favourites for a medal.
