One of Croatia’s leading business daily’s has launched a project they hope will help plug up the nation’s concerning brain drain…
Business daily Poslovni dnevnik, supported by Zagreb University, have launched ‘Hrvatska pamet Hrvatskoj’(Croatia’s brain (stay) in Croatia) a social responsible project aimed at rewarding Croatian student excellence, but also helping ease their integration into the national economy system. The project invites teams of three students (aged between 18-27) to present potential business ideas based on 5 themes.
The five best projects from each theme will be rewarded with a cash prize to the tune of 21,000 kuna (3,000 euros), whilst all participants will get the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills to potential employers, as well as the chance to gain new experience in project management, which Poslovni dnevnik and its partners will provide during the project.
Poslovni dnevnik hopes that the project will raise awareness and get debate going about the serious problem facing the nation. Youth unemployment in Croatia is one of the worst in Europe at around 40%, and an average of 30,000 people a day, many talented and well-educated, are looking abroad for a better future.
