The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has confirmed this week that Croatia’s Davis Cup tie with Serbia will be played in the Serbian city of Kraljevo…
IFT gave the ‘green light’ for the World Group first round tie to be played at the 4,040 capacity hardcourt indoor arena built in 2013 from 6-8 March. Serbia as hosts had the choice to choose the surface for the tie.
Croatia secured their promotion to the World Group after beating the Netherlands 3-2 away late last year. The tie will see Croatia’s number 1 player Marin Čilić aim to beat Serbia’s Novak Djokovic for the first time. Croatia have already won the prestigious Davis Cup once before and will be looking to emulate that feat again. The winner will face the winner of the Argentina v Brazil tie.
