The retired teacher was attending a play and when she exited she was picked up by a gust and thrown to the ground in front of Hotel Miramare, reports index.hr. Bura winds blowing up 155kmph, the strongest in the last 10 years, have been recorded in the region over the last two days.
The famous bura winds have already claimed a life in Makarska, which lies 60km southeast of Split. Over 20 years ago the bura wind threw a woman against a stone wall, with the impact on her head proving fatal.
