The Croatian developers of what they are calling the world’s first smart umbrella, have sold out of their first series of production in just three months…
Demand for Kisha – a smart umbrella which connects to your mobile phone – has been huge and after selling out their first series, they are now in talks with more than 30 distributors around the world.
“In the USA 33 million umbrellas are sold every year, and 60% of our buyers have come from there. They have also gone well in Europe where 30% of buyers come from. The remaining 10% are from Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan,” Kisha Co-founder Goran Čandrlić told Poslovni dnevnik.
Kisha have teamed up with a Croatian umbrella producer to produce the smart umbrellas. Marketed as the first of its kind in the world and the umbrella you will never lose, Kisha tells you the weather forecast in the morning, notifies you when you leave it in a restaurant, bar or pub, and is guaranteed to last 3 years. Kisha is connected via a mobile app on an iPhone or Android phone.
The developers are currently planning to add more capabilities to Kisha as they plan to expand on the market. For that more investment is required.
“We are discussing two rounds of financing. On one side private investors from London are interested in our startup, and on the other side it is possible to get greater investment via Crowdcub,” said Čandrlić.
