No Croatian Citizens on Board Fatal Germanwings Flight

Croatia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have said that there were no Croatian citizens on board the fatal Germanwings flight 9525 which crashed in southern France on the way from Barcelona, Spain to Düsseldorf, Germany on Tuesday…

150 people were on board when it crashed, and with Germanwings a popular carrier amongst Croatian citizens it was initially not clear if any were on board. On Tuesday afternoon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement.

With regards to information about the passenger plane going down in southern France, we do not have any information for now that there were any Croatian citizens amongst the victims, but we are in contact with institutes in Germany and we will advise once we have any new information. – a Ministry spokesperson said in a statement.

45 Spaniards, 67 Germans, including 16 schoolchildren are among feared victims of the Airbus A320 crash that French officials say nobody survived. It was reported that the plane went down between Digne and Barcelonnette after an eight-minute descent.
