Croatia Sets Tourism Revenue Record

Last year revenue from tourism made up 17.2% of Croatia’s Gross Domestic Product, which was a 0.6% greater share than the year previous. HNB have announced income generated from tourism from those visiting Croatia for personal and business reasons. Revenues generated by tourists who came to Croatia in 2014 for personal reasons amounted to 7.2 billion euros, an increased of 3.3% from 2013, whilst income resulting from the arrival of tourists for business reasons amounted to 194 million euros.

“Income from tourism in 2014 has increased from 2013, and at the same time revenues from tourist who came to Croatia for personal reasons even passed the record 2008 year. Pre and post season revenues in 2014 were 30 million euros greater than the record year of 2008. These results make me extremely happy as they are proof that tourism politics are heading in the right direction and that Croatia is becoming competitive, interesting and a sought-after destination,” Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin said commenting on the published results.
