More than 50,000 spectators are expected to turn up to the coastal town of Rovinj next weekend as the Red Bull Air Race World Championship event comes to town…
It will be the second year in a row that Croatia has been given hosting rights and is a massive coup for Croatia and Rovinj, as it brings in a load of tourists ‘out of season’. Last year 280 of the world’s media were in town to cover the event. With the race only 9 days away, preparations are now in full swing with the organisers and over 250 volunteers working on bringing the high-adrenalin race to Rovinj.
“It is a massive challenge! A world spectacle of this magnitude requires great organisation and a capable infrastructure, which is hard to find in towns much bigger than Rovinj. But, thanks to our tourist offerings, accommodation capacity and experience in organising similar events, we have for the second year in a row together with the local council ensured that conditions for competitors and spectators will be excellent,” said Tomislav Popović from Adris Group.
The best pilots in the world will be on show at the Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Rovinj on 30 and 31 May.
