Good news for bike enthusiasts in Croatia. The capital Zagreb and Zagreb County is set to get 121 kilometres of bike tracks..
The 17 million euro project titled ‘Greenway’ will see the bicycle lanes run from the Zagreb County town of Ivanic Grad to the Slovenia border. The project, which will be financed largely from EU regional development funds, is due to be completed in 2017 and will form part of the future national bicycle route which will run along the Sava river from the Serbian to the Slovenia border.
The new bicycle route, which is expected to be used by over 60 million bike tourists, will be another string to the bow of Croatia’s tourism offerings.
