Medals for Croatia at the International Math Olympiad in Thailand

Croatia’s young mathematicians have finished among the Top 20 in the world at the 56th Math Olympiad which ended in Thailand on Wednesday…
Croatia took 15th place overall out of 104 countries participating at this year’s Math Olympiad, which is the ‘Maths World Cup’ for secondary school-age students. It was Croatia’s best finish since 1993.
Croatia did win a number of individual medals at the event. Adrian Beker from Zagreb won gold, with Petar Orlić (Zagreb), Kristijan Štefanec (Zagreb) and Daniel Paleka (Zadar) winning silver. Ivan Lazarić from Pula also picked up an individual medal, winning bronze.
A total of 577 students competed in this year’s edition of the Olympiad in Chiang Mai. IMO is an annual Olympiad for high school students and is the oldest of the International Science Olympiads.
