The Croatian President and Israeli Prime Minister Discuss Further Cooperation

The President of the Republic, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, met with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, in a discussion concerning the strengthening and enhancement of cooperation…
During the meeting there was an exchange of opinions concerning economic cooperation between Croatia and Israel, especially in the energy sector and the pharmaceutical industry which already exists in Croatia. The President said that in addition to entrepreneurs, Israeli tourists are also very welcome to Croatia, noting that the number of tourists is growing each year.
According to President Grabar-Kitarović, there are possibilities for strengthening and deepening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of the economy, security, science and advanced technology, as well as culture.
The Croatian President noted that Croatia and Israel share many similarities as Mediterranean countries, and that they should explore every possibility for strengthening cooperation.
They exchanged information and views on security issues and the challenges in the Middle East and in South Eastern Europe. The made particular reference to the Middle East peace process and the agreement recently reached concerning the Iranian nuclear issue.
In closing, the President stressed that Israel has in Croatia and in her personally, a friend, an ally and a reliable partner in the European Union and NATO. President Grabar-Kitarović is Croatia’s first senior official to visit the State of Israel since Croatia’s accession to the European Union.
