DAILY MAIL: Losinj set to Become Adriatic’s Star Attraction

One of the most read websites in the world, Daily Mail’s Mail Online, has this weekend almost run out of superlatives praising the Croatian island of Lošinj…
“Croatia is heating up: Little-known island of Losinj set to become the star attraction of the Adriatic,” is the title of the text which goes onto praise the northern Adriatic island.
“The island has lots more to offer than good oxygen. The sea is turquoise and brilliant: Italians flock here, because they are ‘jealous of the water’. Not that tourism is new on the island. In the 19th century, European aristocrats came to Lotzing or Lussino (the name changed depending on who thought it theirs) to breathe in the clean sea air and heal their respiratory problems,” writes the Mail Online.
The article goes onto talk about development plans for the island, which include an 18-hole golf course resort designed by former World number 1 Ernie Els. Croatia Week wrote about those plans recently.
The Mail Online says that the development will propel the island into a tourism star – attracting tourists in their droves like the Spanish island Majorca has done over the last few decades.
