NK Inter Zaprešić stunned Dinamo Zagreb with an impressive result on Friday.

 

The two teams drew 2-2, but Dinamo was forced to come back from being two goals down in the first half.

 

Inter struck early in the game with a long-range brace in the sixth minute scored by Dejan Čabraja.

 

Ilja Nestrovski was once again in the spotlight of Zaprešić with his 39th minute goal to put his team up by two goals over the Croatian champions. It was Nestorovski’s league-leading eighth goal of the season.

 

Nestorovski has since been selected to join the Macedonian national team for his first cap in their effort to qualify for the European Championship.

 

Junior Fernandes cut Dinamo’s deficit in half with a penalty scored in the 45th minute, but it was Armin Hoždić, the Bosnian National Team’s newest member, who scored the tying goal for the Modri in the 49th minute.

 

The goal was Hoždić’s eighth goal of the season and is tied with Nestorovski in total goals.

 

Dinamo may have underestimated its opponent, but the teams deservedly split the points.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hajduk Split easily routed NK Istra 1961 at Poljud 3-0 on Sunday.

 

All three goals were scored int eh first 30 minutes of the match, but started off rough for the Istrians.

 

Renato Gojković scored an own goal against his Istrian club in the seventh minute and it was all downhill from there.

 

Jefferson would go to double the lead for the Bili in the 10th minute and Mijo Caktaš would score a penalty in the 30th minute to give the final 3-0 scoreline.

 

The match had ended in a Pula defeat, but that was only the beginning for veteran coach, Igor Pamić.

 

Pamić, who has been the HNL’s longest-tenured coach for a single team was fired Monday morning after leading Pula for four years, six months, and six days.

 

It has been reported that disagreements and lack of chemistry between him and new American owner Michael Glover led to the sacking of Istra coach.

 

Glover released a statement on Monday stating:

 

“Unfortunately, our head coach failed to accept that kind of relationship within the organization. To ensure that NK Istra 1961 continue to grow and be successful, we decided to make changes in the leading positions in the training team. Days like today are difficult, but necessary in order to attain the objectives and to meet the obligations towards the fans. I appreciate the contribution of coach Pamic our organization and wish him all the best for the future.”

 

Sporting director Robert Rubčić will be manning the helm temporarily while a new coach in hired.

 

With the Hajduk win, they sit only one point behind Dinamo Zagreb.

 

 

 

 

 

 

HNK Rijeka had no trouble defeating winless NK Zagreb on Sunday evening with a score of 4-1.

 

Rijeka ended the match with 10 men after Filip Bradarić was sent off after seeing yellow twice, but it made no difference in the score, and Zagreb are still in search of their first victory.

 

Moises scored Rijeka’s first goal in the third minute, but the team was unable to score a second goal until Odhise Roshi dobled the lead in the 80th minute. From there, Josep Radošević scored in the 83rd minute and Bekim Balaj scored Rijeka’s fourth goal in the 85th minute.

 

Zagreb’s hopes for a point were dashed, but Gabrijel Boban showed that he still believes in his team and scored the lone consolation goal in the 88th minute.

 

Rijeka are now only one point behind Hajduk Split while it appears Zagreb is destined to remain in 10th place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

RNK Split registered a 1-0 away win against NK Osijek thanks to a 78th minute goal from Draen Bagarić.

 

Bagarić bagged his fourth goal of the season to secure his team the win and remain in fourth place on the table.

 

It was also the first match for Split with new/old head coach Goran Sablić in charge. Sablić started his second stint with the Reds on a high note and continued it on Monday by signing Ukrainian international, Artem Milevskiy.

 

Milevskiy, or known as Mile Whisky to fans of his former club, Hajduk Split, mutually terminated his contract with Hajduk Split in September.

 

The striker has had history with discipline and drinking problems, but has found a new home in Split and has joined the Reds as reinforcement to find a chance to compete in Europe.

 

 

 

 

 

 

NK Lokomotiva and Slaven Belupo began the match week with a 1-1 draw on Friday in Zagreb.

 

Franko Andrijašević scored for the Lokosi in the 64th minute but Musafa Ejupi scored his sixth goal of the season in the 87th minute to steal a point away from Lokomotiva and secure his team’s fourth consecutive draw.
