Two Croatian basketball legends from the 1990s are nominees to be inducted into basketball’s Hall of Fame…
Toni Kukoč and Dino Rađa have both been named as nominees for 2016 to enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Kukoč and Rađa join the likes of Alen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal on the list announced today.
Finalists will be announced during the NBA All Star Weekend on 12 February in Toronto, whilst those who will be inducted will be named on 4 April. An officially induction ceremony will then be held on 8-10 September in Springfield.
Kukoč’s NBA careers spanned from 1993 until 2006. During his 7-year spell with the Chicago Bulls Kukoč won 3 NBA rings. He also was 5-times Euroscar Player of the Year, won the EuroBasket MVP, an Olympic silver medal and was named on FIBA’s 50 Greatest Players list.

Rađa, who is a two-time Euroleague title winner, is best known for the three and a half seasons he spent with the Boston Celtics in the NBA. He was also part of Croatia’s Olympic silver medal winning team.

If inducted the pair will not be the only Croatians there, Krešimir Ćosić, Dražen Petrović and Mirko Novosel have all be inducted.
