The Dharma Hostel was presented with the label for its effort in the preservation of great industrial and technical heritage at the European Cultural Tourism (ECTN) conference held in Riga.
The ECTN project of hostels and culture halls included Dharma Hostel among 10 European industrial heritage projects. Dharma, which Lonely Planet listed in its Top 20 in Europe in 2-14, is now the first and only premises in Croatia awarded with a QR Industriana Code. The reconstruction and the conversion of the disused industrial hall into the hostel with additional amenities began in 2011 and the hostel opened its door to guests in 2013.
INDUSTRIANA is an independent community of European industrial and technical heritage sites and museums and their visitors, aiming to map them on a European platform, to promote them, linking them and establishing contacts between one another. It is an initiative launched with the support and under the patronage of E-FAITH, the European Federation of Associations of Industrial and Technical Heritage – as one of the permanent results of the 2015 European Industrial and Technical Heritage Year.
