Croatian January Transfer Window Action

Football’s January transfer window has closed, so where did the money go?..

The January 2016 transfer window closed at 11pm (GMT) on 1 February. Here are all deals which took place over the past month involving Croatian players.

Andrija Balić – Hajduk Split to Udinese (Serie A)

Balić, rated one of the biggest teenage talents to come out of Croatia, moved from Hajduk Split to Italian club Undinese. Balić signed a deal, reported around 3 million euros, till 2020 with the Italians.

Ivan Vargić – NK Rijeka to Lazio (Serie A)

One of the surprise last-minute signings of the window. Vargić, who is Croatia’s 3rd choice keeper, signed for 2.7 million euros. He will play for Rijeka for the rest of this season however and move in the summer.

Mijo Caktaš – Hajduk Split to Rubin Kazan (Russia)

Caktaš, who has been one of Hajduk Split’s best players in recent times, moves to play in Russia after signing a deal until 2019 worth 1 million euros.

Antun Maglica – Hajduk Split – Apollon Limassol (Cyprus)

Maglica had been struggling at Hajduk Split and was not given much game time. He has already scored twice since signing for his new club.

Andrej Kramarić – Leicester to Hoffenheim (Bundesliga)

Kramarić has been given a chance to get some game time and push for a place in Croatia’s squad for EURO 2016 in France.

Ante Rebić – Fiorentina – Hellas Verona (Serie A)

Croatian international Rebić is on the move again. He stays in the Serie A and will try to find form ahead of EURO 2016 at his new club.
