According to data released today by the Ministry of Administration, there were 37,559 babies born in Croatia last year…
So what were the most names given to those 37 and a half thousand babies? Well again ‘traditional’ Croatian names dominated. The most popular name given in 2015 was Luka (919 babies in 2015).
The most common girls name was Mia (596), followed by Lucija (519), Ema (448), Ana (429), Petra (427), Sara (426), Lana (397), Nika (368), Marta (329) and Iva (299).
The most common boys name apart from Luka were Ivan (638), David (595), Jakov (504), Petar (434), Marko (428), Filip (428), Karlo (407), Ivano (381) and Josip (380).
In other statistics released, it was revealed that 393 foreign couples ties the knot in Croatia in 2015, with Dubrovnik the most popular location.
