Legendary American basketballer, and one of the greatest to play the game, Michael Jordan, has sent his signed famous No. 23 Chicago Bulls playing jersey to be displayed at the Zagreb museum.

Last weekend 40 participants in the European Jordan Brand Classic Camp visited the Dražen Petrović Memorial Centre and Biserka Petrović, mother of Dražen, was presented with the signed jersey.

“I am touched and honoured with the gesture, and the signed Michael Jordan jersey will have a special place in the Dražen museum. I will never forget the special moment when Michael told me that playing against Dražen was a challenge, but also nice experience and that Dražen was the player who opened the door to the NBA for European players,” Biserka Petrović said.

Jordan and Petrović went head to head many times in the NBA, and famously in the final of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

Born in Šibenik, Petrović was just 28 years of age when he was killed in a car accident in Germany after returning from playing for Croatia in Poland on 7 June 1993. Voted the Best European Basketballer in History, Petrović enjoyed an illustrious career with the New Jersey Nets, averaging 20.6 points in 36.9 minutes on the floor, and nearly leading all NBA guards in field goal percentage (51%). He did not miss a single game.
