Hard Cro is an international ultramarathon cycling recreational race in Croatia which will be held for the first time from 20 – 24 June 2016. The challenge consists of completing the race in less than 5 days, cycling through the most attractive locations in Croatia, from Prevlaka in the south to Ilok in the east.

The route goes through beautiful landscapes along the Adriatic coast, then through harder mountain sections over the slopes of Velebit in Dalmatia, entering Istria over the mountain Učka, climbing into Gorski kotar over Gornje Jelenje pass, with a flat finish through Slavonia.

The race connects the most remote points in Croatia – the start is in Prevlaka in the south, leading to Savudrija in the west, then St. Martin on Mura in the north, finishing in the easternmost town of Ilok. Overall, the route distance is 1,400 km, with 16,000 m of climbing, a real challenge for everyone who enjoys endurance cycling.

The Hard Cro Race (HCR) is based on one guiding principle: Cycle your HCR route end-to-end, as fast as possible in a solo, self-supported, self-timed fashion. The HCR is observed as one stage, i.e. the clock runs non-stop. There are required check points, but there is no designated route and there are no designated rest periods on the course.
