The Croatian national team will play its first international football match ever in the northern city of Koprivnica in May…
Croatia will face Iran at the end of May in an international friendly as it builds up to Euro 2016 in France. The match will be the first to be hosted in the city and Koprivnica will join Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek and Varaždin as hosts of the national side, writes daily Vecernji list.
Croatia and Iran have met twice before in friendlies. Croatia won 2-0 just before France ’98 in Rijeka and the two sides played out a 2-2 draw in Osijek in a warm-up before the World Cup in 2006 in Germany.
The match against Iran will be the third warm up match ahead of Euro 2016. This month Croatia face Israel in Osijek and Hungary in Budapest.
