100 Years of Croatian Classical Music Concert in Washington D.C.

100 years of Croatian classical music to be celebrated in the United States next month…

As part of the European Month of Culture in May, the Croatian Embassy in the U.S. and Audeamus International Music Festival will present a concert surveying a hundred years of Croatian classical music at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on 11 May 2016 (18:00).

The programme will include works by celebrated Croatian composers Bruno Bjelinski, Boris Papandopulo, Marko Ruždjak, and Marko Tajčević, as well as premieres by emerging composers Tomislav Oliver and Lana Janjanin. Performers include a cellist Dorotea Racz (Croatia), pianist Javor Bračić (Croatia) and Dmitry Samogray (USA), flutist Ginevra Petrucci (Italy), clarinetist Gleb Kanasevich (Belarus), violinist Lydia Chernikoff (USA) and a guitarist Yisak Lee (Korea).

The concert will be streamed live on the Kennedy Center website.
