Croatia’s first ‘vinotel’, or wine hotel, is to open on the northern Adriatic island of Krk tomorrow…
Gospoja boutique vinotel is the first ‘wine’ hotel in Croatia and has 58 beds in 22 accommodation units, including two apartments and 5 family rooms. The hotel has been designed based on themes of Croatian grape varieties.
Around 5 million euros has been invested in the hotel which will have its official opening on Thursday 25 August 2016. The hotel is the first ‘wine themed’ hotel in the country. It has 5 connecting buildings representing the 5 wine regions in Croatia with the rooms named after various indigenous grapes.
The hotel is built on the foundations of the Toljanić family house, a family renowned for their winemaking in the area, in an idyllic part of Vrbnik near the sea.
