Legendary Croatian mixed martial artist Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipović has stepped out of retirement in style in Tokyo on Sunday…

Cro Cop, who announced his retirement earlier this year, beat Korean fighter Hyun Man Myung at the Saitama Arena in Tokyo in his comeback fight today. Mirko controlled the fight from the outset, knocking down his opponent in the opening round before going on to win by submission in just two minutes.

Filipović thanked his family and fans after the fight for their support, as well as two guest fans from Croatia whom he bought over all expenses paid to Japan in a Facebook competition.

Immediately after the fight Cro Cop called legendary Brazilian fighter Wanderlei Silva into the ring and a fight between the two was officially confirmed. Silva, who holds the record for the most wins, knockouts, title defenses, and longest winning streak in PRIDE history, told the crowd he wanted to fight the best and Mirko was the best today.

The fight between Cro Cop and Silva is scheduled to go ahead in December.
