An usual site has greeted locals and tourists this morning on Zagreb’s main Ban Josip Jelačić square.
Zagreb city centre has turned into a slalom ski slope for a unique race on Wednesday which is set to be a spectacular promotion for the capital.
On Monday night trucks transported 1000 cubic metres of snow to the centre of town.
Skiing legends, like the Croatian greats Janica and Ivica Kostelić, Alberto Tomba, Tina Maze, and Pernilla Wiberg will race past famous city landmarks in an exhibition ski race as part of the FIS Ski World Cup event – the Vip Snow Queen Trophy which will be held in Zagreb for the 11th year in January 2017.
The race will start on Toma Bakač street, passing Zagreb’s famous cathedral before finishing at the famous Manduševac fountain on the main Ban Josip Jelačić square.
