The new Terminal C building at Dubrovnik Airport has partially opened on Monday, the airport announced on its Facebook page.
The new €274 million Terminal C will open in phases, with the first phase opening today.
“The first phase of the opening takes place today. Check-in and security check points have been moved to the new terminal. Terminal A will be completely closed for passenger traffic. We are delighted with the opening of the new terminal”, the statement said, adding that the opening will help boost passenger services.
A complete move to Terminal C is expected before the 2017 summer season starts.
The new 24,000 m2 passenger terminal C, increased runways and taxiways, and new infrastructure such as storage facilities, access roads and car parking is largely being financed from strategic EU funds.
2016 was Dubrovnik Airport’s busiest on record with passenger numbers up 17.7% on 2015 to close to 2 million.
