Award-winning American actor Jamie Foxx has touched down in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik on Friday.
Foxx is in town for the filming of Robin Hood: Origins, which he stars in and will be filmed in Dubrovnik over the next 12 days.
The Otto Bathurst directed and Leonardo DiCaprio produced film, which also stars Jamie Doran from Fifty Shades of Grey fame, will be filmed in Dubrovnik at various locations around the Old City, including the port, the main street Stradun and St. Dominic Street.
Foxx won an Academy Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 biographical film Ray. The same year, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the crime film Collateral.
He also starred in the film adaptation of TV series Miami Vice, Django Unchained and the supervillain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Foxx is also a Grammy Award-winning musician, producing four albums which have charted in the top ten of the US Billboard 200.
The film’s premiere at the box office is planned for January 2018 and Dubrovnik’s mayor revealed earlier this month that the film will be the first in a trilogy.
