The Croatian national football team will play for the first time in the United States in May.
Croatia will play a friendly against Mexico on 27 May 2017 in Los Angeles at the Memorial Coliseum, the Croatian Football Federation announced today.
The match, which will kick-off at 16:30 local time, will be the first match in North America for Croatia. The national team have already played in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South America.
Mexico are currently ranked one place Croatia on the FIFA Rankings in 17th. The two sides have met four times already. Croatia have won two, whilst Mexico got their revenge at the 2002 and 2016 World Cups with 1-0 (Japan) and 3-1 (Brazil) wins.
Croatia will likely field a relatively full strength team with most of the major league football finished (besides Italian) for the season and an important 2018 World Cup qualifier on 11 June against Iceland.
Mexico will play Republic of Ireland also on their 15th traditional U.S. Tour on 1 June 2017 in New York. The last time Mexico played at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles in 2015 they attracted a crowd of 88,000 against Ecuador.
