Croatia’s Marko Pjaca will miss the rest of the season after being stretchered off in last night’s 3-0 loss to Estonia in an international friendly in Tallinn.
The Juventus attacker had a MRI scan on his injured knee on Wednesday at St. Catherine Specialty Hospital in Zagreb, and the results confirmed the bad news many expected.
The scan confirmed that Pjaca has a anterior cruciate ligament tear and will have to undergo surgery, the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) confirmed today.
Some reports suggest that Pjaca will not be back in action on the field for at least six months.
Pjaca’s first season at Juventus has been plauged with injury. He was out for two months at the start of the season with a leg injury.
Croatia’s medical staff are in constant contact with the medical team at Juventus and they will decide together how best to treat Pjaca’s injury and recovery, HNS said.
