The first theme park built-in Croatia will open its doors to the public next month, daily Vecernji list reports.

Fun Park Mirnovec, which is located 2 km south of the Dalmatian town of Biograd na Moru, will open on 15 July and will operate with reduced capacity in the first five days.

“We are planning to sell a limited number of tickets for the period from 15 to 20 July. The park will operate with reduced capacity during that period, and tickets will range between 100 and 120 kuna and will be available on 5 July only via our website. Starting from 20 July, we will start to work with full capacity with a ticket price of 130 to 190 kuna depending on the type of ticket,” Fun Park Mirnovec Director Boris Kovaček said.

The first theme park in Croatia took 1 year and 2 months to complete and is based on Gardaland in Italy, and theme parks in Florida and Orlando.

The theme park, which spans over 45,000 square metres, will have 26 attractions in three themes – Pirate Town, Wild West, and Space.

As well as attractions such as roller coasters, carousels, and water rides, the park will have the 30-metre high ‘Adriatic Eye’, like the London Eye, which will have a view out to Pašman island.

Between 150,000 and 180,000 visitors are expected annually.

“In the preseason and postseason we will work on weekends, and in the tourist season we will be open every day,” said Kovaček.
