4th Croatian World Games Set to Get Underway

Everything is in readiness for the 4th Croatian World Games set to get underway in the Croatian capital on Tuesday.
The 4th Croatian World Games will be held from 18-22 July with 1,200 competitors from 31 countries around the world taking part in a variety of sporting events.
The Croatian World Games, which have previously been held in 2006, 2010 and 2014, are organised by the Croatian World Congress, an association which connects organisations and institutions from and Croatia and Croats living abroad.
Although it is not mandatory that athletes belong to an official sport or cultural organisation, they must be over 16 years of age and have Croatian ancestry.

6. Volleyball (sand) – Jarun – 20.07
7. Volleyball (Women’s) – Dom B. Stranic – 19-20.07
8. Athletics – Cross – Bundek – 22.07
9. Basketball – KIF – 20.07
10. Swimming – Mladost – 21.07
11. Judo – KIF – 20.07
12. Badminton – KIF – 19-20.07
13. Bowl – Boćalište Špansko – 19-21.07
14. Taekwondo – Sutinska vrela hall – 20.07
15. Handball – KIF – 21.07
16. Karate – Sutinska vrela hall – 19.07
17. Golf – Blato – 19-21.07
Competitors will be from the following nations: Angola, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Bolivia, Brazil, Montenegro, Chile, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Macedonia, Netherlands, Germany, Paraguay, Peru, Romania, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, Sweden, Tanzania, UK and Venezuela.
As well as the sporting side of the games, there will be an opportunity for the competitors to mix socially with concerts held every night and a chance to visit some sights around the city.
