A special day yesterday in the Istrian town of Rovinj with the placement underwater of a new tourist attraction.
In honor of St. Euphemia’s Day, a replica statue of Rovinj’s patron-saint has been placed under the sea near the Islet of Banjole.
“Thanks to our diving team for carefully transporting the statue from land to its new home in the Adriatic,” the Rovinj Tourist Board said.
Check out the photos below to get a close-up of the excursion and the first look at Rovinj’s newest tourist attraction.
