Croatia Leads EU in Share of Population Living in Home they Own

More than 90% of Croatian lived in a home they own in 2016, the third highest share among all EU member states, Eurostat said on Thursday.
Croatia came in third, with 90.1% of its population living in owner-occupied dwellings in 2016, only behind and Romanians (96%) and Lithuanians (90.3%).
The EU average for people living in a home they owned in 2016 was 69.3%.
At the bottom of the list was Germany, where only just over half the population lived in owner-occupied dwellings in 2016 (51.7%).
Other nations near the bottom of the list included Austria (55%), Denmark (62%) and the UK (63.4%).
In 2016, 57.5% of the population in the EU lived in houses, whilst 41.8% lived in apartments.
