Marin Cilic Jumps to World No.3

Marin Cilic has a new career-high ranking after reaching the Australian Open final on Thursday night in Melbourne.
The Croatian disposed of Britain’s Kyle Edmund in straight sets to book a place in his third Grand Slam final. The win also sent Cilic to his highest ever ATP ranking.
Cilic is now ranked No.3 in the world, only behind Rafa Nadal and Swiss great Roger Federer.
Nadal, who looks set to miss the next month after retiring hurt from his quarter-final clash with Cilic, has 9760 points, 1435 points ahead of Federer.
Cilic gained 1155 points thanks to his run in Melbourne to now have 4960 points. Cilic will move to 5760 if he manages to win the final.
The next best ranked Croatian Borna Ćorić in 47th position. Ivo Karlović is currently 88th. The highest ranked female Croatian is Donna Vekic in 50th spot on the WTA ranking.
