Pavic has now won two Grand Slam titles. In 2016 he won the US Open mixed doubles title with Laura Siegemund, and in 2017 he reached the Wimbledon Championships men’s doubles finals also with Marach.
Pavic won’t be able to celebrate too much as he will be back on court tomorrow in the final of the Mixed Doubles with his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski.
“I opened my mobile, I have 200 messages. It’s going to be a long night. Also emotions and everything. I not going to sleep a lot. I hope I play it good again and hopefully can manage to win again,” the Croatian, who was on the verge of tears, said after the victory.
“This guy (Mate) is unbelievable. He did not even realise we won the last point,” Marach said.
