One of the most beautiful parks in the center of Zagreb, the one between Tomić street, Ilica and Strossmayer promenade, will again come to life from 25 May with an exciting all-summer programme, now known as Art Park.
The opening weekend program (25th, 26th and 27th of May) includes painting sessions by Alan Myers and Guido Palmadessa, two fabulous artists from Argentina whose paintings are recognizable on the streets of the world’s metropolis.
They will be joined by guests from neighboring Serbia, also internationally renowned Junk and Wuper, while Croatian art forces will feature Lunar, Dominik Vuković, Modul8, Ivan Oštarčević, Dock, Smack, Tinu Ninu, Pero zloba, Boris Bare and Saša Pocrnić Anxio from Split.
During the three-day opening, artists will paint the walls and panels in the park, visitors will hang out with the Dj session, and the program will complement the cyclo-projection and educational content of this year’s Pedalafest, the biggest event associated with the urban biking culture in this part of Europe.
The park will be upgraded this year with interesting architectural adaptation montage solutions and additional urban greenery signed by Grow Studio and Hortiart. Art-botanical installation will be inaugurated in the park thanks to a collaboration with Floraart, which will feature Art Park for the first time with its selected program to be out of its location, at Bundek in the period between 28 May to 3 June 2018.
Interactive sculptures Urban Toys by Aleksandar Battista Ilić will get even more space in the park, while co-operation with Ilica: Q’Art project, with which Art Park shares the idea of linking content and revival of Ilica street, gets an upgrade in the form of an interesting open-air programme and exhibition.
The park will also include a special ‘reading bench’ to be taken care of by Fraktura publishing, and a variety of programmes have been arranged with numerous associates such as Knap, Zagreb’s Museum of Contemporary Art, Jungle Tribe, Restart Label, ZMAG, Animafest, Goulash Festival, Hoomstock, 36 Mountains Festival, Tam Tam Festival from Hvar, Pasica Kasica, Mesnička Culture Centre…
A pleasant summer afternoon in the park, an outdoor gallery that will complement the new works and a varied daily programme where everyone will find something for themselves, remain the main features of the third edition of Art Park.
This year’s project was supported by the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, the City of Zagreb, the Medvedgrad Brewery, Jamnica and Pipi.
