Restaurant Pelegrini, located in the Dalmatian town of Šibenik, has once again been named ‘Best Restaurant in Croatia’ at the 2018 Dobri Restorani awards, Jutarnji list reports.
Pelegrini, which was this year awarded a Michelin Star, also won ‘Best Restaurant in Dalmatia’, whilst head chef Rudolf Stefan won ‘Chef of the Year’.
The second best restaurant in Croatia, which also was named ‘Best Restaurant in Zagreb’, was Noel. Chef Goran Kocis and sommelier Ivan Jug have quickly turned Noel into the capital’s top fining restaurants.
Third place went to another Zagreb restaurant, Dubravkin Put. Fourth place went to Restoran 360 in Dubrovnik which also this year received its first Michelin Star. Fifth place went to Plavi Podrum in Volosko. Also in the TOP 10 were Monte in Rovinj, Mala Hiža in Mačkovec and popular Zagreb restaurants Carpaccio and Vinodol.
The awards, now in their seventh year organised by leading Croatian daily newspaper Jutarnji list in partnership with Vinart, are based on secret votes from 500 top players involved in the Croatian gastro scene, including restaurateurs, chefs, gastro journalists, bloggers and winery owners.
