The great summer of success for Croatian sports continues as the Croatia U16 basketball team advances to the semi-final of the European Championships.
Croatia beat Lithuania in a nail-biter 78-80 today in Novi Sad to move into the semi-final.
Croatia’s captain Matej Bošnjak was the hero for his team today as he came up with a massive block at the buzzer.
Boris Tišma led the scoring with 27 points, Ivan Perasović had 20, Roko Prkačin finished with 18 and Bosnjak had 13 – the remaining three points were scored by Lukša Buljević.
“I wasn’t even thinking about fouls, with a couple of seconds remaining… I just went after it!” – Matej Bošnjak, team captain of Croatia, told FIBA after the game-winning block.
