Croatian Cheeses Awarded at Prestigious Global Cheese Awards in UK

Croatian cheeses from Istria and the island of Pag have won awards at the prestigious Global Cheese Awards which took place recently in the UK.
Agrolaguna’s Špin cheese has picked up two awards whilst Paška Sirana’s Paški sir won one at the awards which are one of the oldest and most respected in the industry celebrating producers from all over the world.
This year’s judging of the Global Cheese Awards took place last week at the West Woodlands Showground, Near Frome, Somerset with Croatian cheeses taking away three awards in three categories.

Mixed Milk Soft Cheese Category
Bronze – Istrian Cheese Špin – Istrian Mixed Milk Young Cheese
Sheep Milk Cheese – Hard Pressed Category
Silver – Istrian Cheese Špin – Istrian Sheep’s Milk
Sheep Milk Cheese – Speciality Category
Bronze – Paška Sirana – Paški Sir
For over 155 years, the event has provided producers and retailers with a platform from which to showcase their latest and best offerings with the event regularly attracting over 20,000 visitors.
Entries come from across the globe in their thousands with world-class judges and fierce competition in all categories.
