Croatia has held its one and only training session at Wembley ahead of Sunday’s UEFA Nations League decider.
With only Ivan Rakitić missing through injury, the same squad which took on Spain on Thursday had a light training session at Wembley on Saturday afternoon under the watchful eye of Zlatko Dalić.
Dalić and Ivan Perišić faced the press also on Saturday.
“We respect England immensely, who caused us lots of problem in Moscow and Rijeka. They are even now younger and faster, Sterling and Rashford can get away from anyone so we need to be close to them. They are dangerous with the long ball, even keeper Pickford has an excellent ‘pass’. Wembley has a lot of space so we need to find a solution for England’s great players,” Dalić said.
Dalić added that just like against Spain during the week, Croatia needs to be compact and aggressive.
“We don’t need any extra motivation than coming to Wembley, one of the nicest stadiums in the world. We will give it our all but we are playing in front of 80,000 English fans against a big opponent.
Perišić believes the Three Lions will be favourites on Sunday.
“No team is favourite in England at Wembley, they have a young side and are favourites, but if we play at our highest level I think we have a chance,” the Inter Milan winger said.
The match, which will decide the winner of Group 4 in League A, kicks off at 2 pm local time.
